We are so excited for your interest in baptism! This is the next big step in your faith journey and it is an important step in your obedience to Jesus Christ.

What do we believe about baptism?

We believe that salvation and the forgiveness of sins only comes as a result of placing your belief and hope in the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Baptism is the outward expression testifying to an inward spiritual change. You are proclaiming to the world that you have placed your trust in Christ and you are walking with Him.

Who should be baptized?

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and you have not yet been baptized, then you are ready to be baptized! If you have any questions about starting a relationship with Christ, please contact the church office.

What does Baptism symbolize?

Through baptism we are publicly identifying with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Rom. 6:3-7; Col. 2:11-12). It demonstrates that we have been washed clean from our sins (Acts 22:16; 1 Cor. 6:11; Eph. 5:25-27). And it shows the regeneration and sealing that comes from the Holy Spirit at the point of our faith in Christ (Titus 3:5; 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:13-14).

Baptism as an act of obedience:

We should practice baptism for the simple reason that Jesus Himself not only commanded us to be baptized (Matt. 28:19-20) but He was also baptized (Matt. 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:29-34). While baptism is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates a life in total submission to God.

Baptism is a celebration:

At Restoration Church, we view baptism as a celebration- celebrating God making a person a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). God's excited (Matt. 3:17) and we should be also!
