Title: Israel at the Hands of an Angry God.
Text: Joshua 7
Description:  Through the first 6 chapters of Joshua, the Israelites and Joshua have been completely victorious in everything: crossing the Jordan river, entering the land, dealing with God at Gilgal, the battle at Jericho.  But in Chapter 7, we'll see Israel in retreat, we'll see 36 soldiers killed in battle, we'll see Joshua on his face before God filled with dismay.  Listen as we hear how Israel goes from the mountain top experience of Jericho to the valley of discouragement in Ai. 

Outline:

1. Disaster for Israel- Defeat. (v1-5)
     a.  Reason for defeat: God's burning anger toward's sin (v1, 26)
2. Leaders before God- Perplexed. (v6-9)
3. Divine revelation of problem. (v10-12)
4. Divine instruction for solution. (v13-15)
5. Israel before God- Exposure. (v16-23)
6. Disaster for Achan. (v24-26)
