Title: Hearers AND Doers
Text: James 1:19-27

Notes:

• Activity comes out of identity.
• Before James tell us what to do, he tells us who we are.

A quick-tempered anger cannot change a person’s heart.

What to do with God’s Word:

1. Receive the Word humbly (v21)
2. Put the Word into action (v22)
   Christianity is not about information. It’s about Transformation.
   God’s word evokes action. If there is no action, there is not acceptance of the Word.

Characteristics of Hearers AND Doers:

1. Control over the tongue (v26)
2. Compassion for the dis-advantaged (v27)
3. Separation from ways of the world (v27)
