April 9, 2017 Speaker: Kevin Deyette Series: Confronted with the Resurrection

Passage: Luke 24:36–48

Sermon Title: Confronted with the Resurrection
Text: Luke 24:36-48

Notes:

If Jesus rose from the grave:

  • What does that mean for you?
  • What response should you have?

Disbelieving and still wondering:

  • Doubt is not the opposite of faith
  • Still wondering = still seeking answers / truth
  • God’s not afraid of your doubt. He lovingly meets you where you are at.

In the midst of their doubt, Jesus takes the disciples to the Word of God:

  • When you pursue God’s word- faith blossoms (even alongside doubt)

If Jesus rose from the grave- what does that mean for you?

  1. We can be made right with God- Justified. (Romans 4:25)
  2. Nothing is impossible for God. (Genesis 18:14, 1 Corinthians 15:28)

If Jesus rose from the grave- how should we respond?

  1. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. (Romans 10:9-10)
  2. Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the grave. (Romans 10:9-10)
