The Need for Wisdom

June 17, 2018 Speaker: Kevin Deyette Series: Proverbs: Wisdom for Life

Passage: Proverbs 1:20–33

Title: Need for Wisdom
Text: Proverbs 1:20-33

Notes:

Wisdom:
Skill, expertise, competence to understand how life works best.

Turning to wisdom leads to security. Rejecting wisdom leads to wisdom rejecting you.

Wisdom sits at the crossroads of society, she’s readily available to you and your life.

Simple one: Ignorant, don’t know any better.
Scoffers: Criticize and mock the wisdom-giver.
Fools: Reject wisdom because they already know it all.

God doesn’t work with perfect people, he works with response people.

Turning to wisdom and living right with God leads to security and peace.

You can fake faith when times are good, but a phony faith won’t sustain in hard times.

“There are two types of people in the world. Those who say to God, ‘thy will be done’, and those whom God says, ‘thy will be done.’” C.S. Lewis
