October 13, 2019 Speaker: Kevin Deyette Series: Holy Spirit

Passage: Galatians 5:16–5:23

Title: Evidence of the Spirit
Text: Galatians 5:16-23

What is the eveidnce of the Holy Spirit's presence in a person's life? (Gal. 5:16-17).

Flesh (noun) (Gal. 5:19-21):
-Our natural, sinful desire.
-Our efforts.

The Law is our effort to make ourselves acceptable to God.

If you are led by the Spirit- your maturity isn't determined by your outward actions (Gal. 5:22-23).

Fruit of the Spirit:
-Love (putting others above yourself).
-Joy (regardless of circumstances).
-Peace (calm and confidence in midst of a storm).
-Patience (long-suffering, enduring love).
-Kindness (extending grace to the difficult).
-Goodness (doing what's right).
-Faithfulness (reliable and trustworthy).
-Gentleness (strength under control).
-Self-control (saying no now for a better yes later).

Evidence of walking with the Spirit: Your heart and charact reflect the heart of Jesus (John 13:35, Matt. 7:20).

How do you walk in the Spirit?
