Wonderful Counselor

Passage: Isaiah 9:1–7

Title: Wonderful Counselor
Text: Isaiah 9:1-7

Notes:

How the Messiah helps real-world problems.
    1. Deals with the root of our problems.
-"Evil is a shape-shifter. You defeat it and like a shadow it takes on another shape and grows again" -JRR Tolkien.
    2. God becomes personal through the Messiah (Isa. 9:6).

Wonderful: Supernatural, Miraculous, other-worldly.
Counselor: One who advises, instructs, and guides from a position of authority (Heb. 4:15-16).

There's nothing you've experienced that Jesus hasn't experienced himself (Deut. 31:6; Psa. 23:1-6).

If you have a problem- you are a candidate for a miracle!

How to approach the Wonderful Counselor:
     1. In Complete Honesty.
     2. You have to want to be healed (John 5:6).
     3. You have to do whatever He says.

Do you trust him enough to do what He says?
Do you trust He is the Wonderful Counselor?

We won't experience the help of the Wonderful Counselor until we are willing to surrender.

1. Are you willing to be honest with God?
2. Do you really want God's healing?
3. Are you ready to do whatever He says?
