Title: Prescription for Healthy Relationships
Text: Colossians 3:5-14
1. Our relationships should be characterized by a heart of compassion (v.12).
-"He met me on my level of humanity, not just the theological level preferred by so many church folk" Dr. John Perkins.
2. Our relationships should be characterized by kindness (v.12).
3. Our relationships should be characterized by humility (v. 12).
-Humility: a proper evaluation of yourself.
-Humility means that we esteem others more highly than ourselves.
4. Our relationships should be characterized by meekness (v.12).
-"Our greatest fear shouldn't be failing- but succeeding at things in life that don't really matter" D.L. Moody.
5. Our relationships should be characterized by patience (v.12-13).
6. Our relationships should be characterized by forgiveness (v.13).
7. Our relationships should be characterized by love (V. 14).
God's treatment of us is the basis for how we ought to treat others.
