Text: Luke 24:13-35
Title: Easter as an Identity
The Emmaus disciples teach us:
1) We can come to the wrong conclusion in life.
2) There's a wrong and right way to read Scripture.
3) Comfort and power in life come from the resurrection of Jesus.
The resurrection of Jesus is our core identity that gives us comfort and power in this life.
We've got to learn to read Scripture the right way.
"If you cut the Bible anywhere, it will bleed. The blood of Jesus stains every page" - Adrian Rodgers.
Understanding Scripture:
1) Does this passage point to Jesus?
2) Does this passage foreshadow or anticipate Jesus in some way?
3) How does Jesus and the gospel shape my understanding of this passage?
Easter can't be a holiday we celebrate- it MUST be our identity.
