Characteristics of the Good Shepherd: 

1. He is protective
2. He is personal 
3. He is sacrificial 
   1. Propitiation: The turning away of the wrath of God as just judgment for our sin by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. 
   2. Vicarious / Substitutionary Atonement: Jesus taking the place of mankind and suffering for the penanlty of their sin. 

Message Summary: Abundant life is found by following the Good Shepherd who is personal, protects, and sacrifices himself for us. 

The key to abundant life is following the Shepherd.
