If you were around the church this week, you probably saw the jungle vines, the plants, the animals — and maybe even felt like you'd stepped into a rainforest yourself. That's because our team transformed the building for VBS! Our theme was Rainforest Falls: Exploring the Nature of God, and our kids spent the week swinging through four big truths about who God is.
Here's what we learned this week:
Day 1: God Is Our Creator
Kids started the week looking at the wild, intricate design of the rainforest itself — every leaf, every creature, every color placed there on purpose. The takeaway? If God cared enough to design a rainforest in such incredible detail, He cared enough to design them on purpose too. Nothing about them is an accident.
Day 2: God Knows Everything
Day two took kids deeper into the canopy to explore how much God sees and understands — not in a way that's scary, but in a way that's steady. God isn't confused by anything going on in a kid's life, their friendships, their worries, or their questions. He already knows, and He's not surprised by any of it.
Day 3: God Is Our Safe Place
Day three was about what it means to run to God when things feel unstable — when a day is hard, when fear creeps in, when the world feels loud. Kids learned that no matter how deep the jungle gets, God is the safe place they can always run back to.
Day 4: God Is Love
We closed out the week with the biggest truth of all — that everything we learned pointed back to a God who loves. Not a distant, complicated love, but one that's personal, patient, and always reaching toward them.
What a week it was. Watching these kids swing, splash, and discover their way through the nature of God has been such a joy — and we're so grateful for every leader, volunteer, and parent who made it happen.
