Text: 1 Sam. 24
Title: Self Control
"It's not a mountain that we conquered but ourselves" - Edmund Hilary.
Self Control:
- To be in strength, might, dominion.
- Someone with power within.
- Someone who exercises restraint for their own impulses, emotions, and desires.
Reacting: Going with your emotions, impulses, and desires.
Responding: Intentionally choosing how to respond, rooted in self-control.
Self control is the result of trusting that God is good, and believing that God will satisfy your soul greater than you could do on your own.
What habits or hangups tempt you to find comfort, peace, love, or acceptance apart from God?
Self control (and the Fruit of the Spirit) don't come naturally- but supernaturally as you abide in Christ.
