Outline:
For the Syrophoenician woman to approach Jesus, she broke every religious, moral, and cultural tradition of her day.
Approaching Jesus:
- This woman agreed that she did not belong at the table.
- She was still confident in the mercy and power of Jesus.
The gospel tells us that we are more wicked than we ever believed, but at the same time we are more loved and accepted than we could ever hope.
Jesus didn't come to bring divine retribution. He came to bear it.
