Perseverance to the End

Passage: Esther 2:19– 3:15

Title: Perseverance to the End
Text: Esther 2:19-3:15

Notes:

Providence:
God’s sovereign and good control - He rules in the details of history over all peoples, times, and places for our good and His glory.

The wrong thing, even for the best of reasons, is still the wrong thing.

Mordecai = a Jew (Esther 2:5).
Haman = the Agagite (Esther 3:1).

Partial obedience is still disobedience.

Anger and murder are on the same highway, one’s just further down the road.

The same animal- like sinful nature in Xerxes and Haman reside in you and me as well.

Hope from God’s providence:
1) We know the nature of the conflict (1 Peter 5:8; Eph. 6:11-12).
2) We know the end of the story.

We can trust God’s providence, even when things are difficult, because we know the end of the story (Rev 21:2-5).
