Everlasting Father

Passage: Isaiah 9:1–7

Title: Everlasting Father
Text: Isaiah 9:1-7

Everlasting Father communicates the ways in which Jesus relates to us.

We tend to project our earthly father onto our Everlasting Father.

Father Wounds:
-The never satisifed dad.
     -Results in nagging, unspoken doubt.
-The angry dad.
     -Results in difficulty trusting God.
-The barely there dad.
     -Interpreted as personal rejection.

3 things kids need to hear from dad:
-I love you.
-I'm proud of you.
-You're really good at _____.

The Everlasting Father is:
-Crazy about you (Isa. 43:4; 49:15; Zeph. 3:17; Psa. 139:1-2, 7-8, 13-14, 16).
-Compassionate toward you (Psa. 103:8-13).
-Always, always there (Heb. 13:5).

Don't judge the Heavenly Father by your earthly father - evaluate your earthly father by your Eternal Father (Zeph. 3:17).

Allow God to quiet and comfort you today with His love.
