Believing Better

October 7, 2018 Speaker: Kevin Deyette Series: Gospel Centered Life

Passage: Romans 8:5–8:9

Title: Believing Better
Text: Romans 8:5-9

Notes:

Change doesn’t come from trying harder, it comes from believing better.

Gospel Summary:
Jesus, God in the flesh, fulfilling Scripture died in place of sinners because of His great love and rose from the grave offering eternal and abundant life to those who put their faith in Him.

Behind every sin is a lie about God.

Two ways to live your life and faith:
-In the flesh (through your work).
-In the Spirit (through God’s work).

Real change doesn’t come by changing your behavior- it comes by the Holy Spirit, changing your heart.

Truths from the Gospel:
-God is gracious (Isa. 30:18).
-God is good (Rom. 5:8).
-God is great (Isa. 41:10).
-God is glorious (Jer. 10:7).
